The Potts Classic and the inaugural New Zealand Short Track Championships kicks of the 2026 Summer Circuit this weekend in Hastings. New Zealand’s top athletes are lining up for a meet that is promising thrilling action on both track and field.
A middle-distance showdown between Sam Ruthe and Sam Tanner is on the cards for the men’s 800m. Zoe Hobbs and Tiaan Whelpton will be looking to claim the first-ever NZ 60m Short Track NZ Titles. World Champion Lisa Adams will be headlining the throws in the women’s para shot put. While 2025 World Athletics Champs representative Nick Palmer lines up in the men’s.
