The winterless north and the bottom of the south are set to host the 49th edition of the iconic children’s athletics event, the Colgate Games. The 2027 games head to Whangārei for the first time since 2014, while Southland’s Invercargill will be the venue for the 2027 South Island Colgate Games.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the Colgate Games to Whangārei in 2027. It’s a fantastic chance to showcase Northland, bring families together from across the country, and celebrate the energy and talent of young athletes. This event is something truly special for Northland to host, and we’re proud to play a part in helping athletics thrive in our community,” said Athletics New Zealand Northland Development Manager, Kirsty Halliday.
