Athletics New Zealand is pleased to confirm that, for the second consecutive year, there will be no increase in Athletics New Zealand club or membership fees for the 2026/27 season.
We’re committed to supporting clubs to deliver great athletics experiences for their communities. Under our new strategic plan, we’re focusing on growing and diversifying revenue streams, enabling Athletics New Zealand to hold membership fees steady while significantly increasing the support available to clubs. Our investment is designed to make club management easier and to strengthen the sport nationwide. This increased investment:
Dedicated Membership Coordinator: providing hands-on help to set up and manage Gameday membership, so clubs can focus on their athletes.
Regional Workforce Expansion: now in its second season, with 14 Development Officers across the country supporting clubs, engaging schools, and building coaching capability.
Officials Development Team: four regional roles dedicated to growing and strengthening officiating, ensuring quality events for all members.
Club Governance Support: a designated project team helping clubs meet compliance under the new Incorporated Societies Act, including updated templates and practical guidance.
Additionally, the club affiliation fee will remain at $175.00, which helps fund the annual insurance cover provided to all affiliated clubs and members, a service that costs Athletics NZ $200 per club.
For the 2026/27 season, we will also continue to offer a 15% family discount for families registering three or more members at the same time, and the membership structure remains unchanged.
