Athletics New Zealand has been named among six global nominees for the Member Federations Award at the upcoming World Athletics Awards 2025. The award is a recognition of federations that have made an outstanding contribution to the growth and profile of athletics worldwide.
The award celebrates excellence across governance, development, and performance, and this year’s shortlist represents the very best from each of the six continental areas.
For Athletics NZ, the nomination adds to a landmark year for the sport in Aotearoa, from historic international success to major strides in community development and governance.
Athletics NZ joins Botswana, China, Ecuador, Spain, and the United States on the shortlist. The winner will be announced on 28 November via World Athletics’ platforms.
This nomination reflects the collective effort of athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and supporters across the country. It’s a proud moment for our athletics whānau and a sign of the impact New Zealand is making on the global stage.
