The 2027 South Island Colgate Games will be held at Surrey Park in Invercargill.
Entry is open to any child aged 7-14 years who is a member of an affiliated athletics club, and both events present an opportunity for children to compete in a fun and encouraging environment.
You don’t need to be selected or be a top athlete, though medals are awarded for 10-14 year old’s in each event. For 7-9 year old’s, the focus is on participation.
The Colgate Games are held in January every year and are made up of two events, the North Island Colgate Games and the South Island Colgate Games

Team Managers
Team managers Register Here
To be eligible, Team Managers must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a current Athletics NZ membership for the 2026/27 season:
- Community Volunteer
- Community Coach
- Accredited Coach
- Official
- Have completed the World Athletics Safeguarding Course
- Be Police vetted by Athletics NZ within the last 3 years
Team Managers who meet all the above requirements will receive a complimentary 3-day pass to the event, sent via email.
