The domestic season is mapped out. From a December opener through to the final weekend of February, athletes have a full run of meets across the country to chase form, fast times and national titles.
This season pairs the premier Summer Circuit with a slate of national permit meets, with national championships spread across both.
Summer Circuit and national permit meets
The Summer Circuit meets are the highest graded meets in New Zealand and broadcast live and free on TVNZ+ this summer. They attract significant world rankings points, and bring top NZ and international athletes together for action-packed and fan-focused athletics events.
National permit meets run alongside the circuit. These meets aim to serve as a development opportunity while also offering a high-quality competitive environment, with events located regionally around New Zealand to improve access for up-and-coming athletes, from meets like the Lovelock and Porritt Classics to specialist events like the Sola Power Throws Meet and the NZ Combined Events Championships.
