Geordie Beamish and Imogen Ayris were eighth in their respective events at the Diamond League meeting in Monaco.
Geordie Beamish 3000m steeplechase 8:19.36 (8), Simon Koech (Kenya) won in 8:03.35. Imogen Ayris PV 4.37m (8), (4.37o, 4.52xxx), Nina Kennedy (Australia) won clearing a PB 4.95m, World Lead and Oceania record breaking Eliza McCartney’s 2018 record of 4.94m.
Also at the meeting Olympic and World 800m champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi of Kenya set a world 1000m record of 2:11.83. This took 0.13 off the previous record set by Noah Ngeny of Kenya in Rieti Italy in 1999.
